This is the Appalachian Trail.

You can explore it right from home here:AT Interactive Map

We've decided to walk all 2,186 Miles of it starting on July 3rd.

We'll be carrying packs weighing about 30 pounds everywhere we go.  Most nights we'll stay in a tent, some nights we'll be in wooden shelters, and some special nights we'll be in a motel bed surrounded by pizza and ice cream, and possibly... cookies.

Yes, if you simply must send us cookies, we can receive them in the mail at various hostels, outfitters, backwoods motor inns, and post offices along the way.

Our first planned maildrop pick-up is going to be at this general store in Stratton, ME-

Population 368

We plan to be there by July 21st.  Any packages should be sent at least 10 days before our estimated arrival date to make sure they get there on time.  If you mail something, send us an email or text so we'll know to look for your package.  Mail can be addressed as follows.

Michael Furniere & Ellie Beziat
c/o Northland Cash Supply
152 Main St.
Stratton, ME 04982
Please hold for AT Hikers
ETA July 21st

The next maildrop will be before we go through one of the hardest sections of the whole trail- the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

We'll be arriving there around August 1st and staying at a hostel that is a favorite amongst other hikers called The Barn.

55 Main Street
Gorham, NH 03581

Our last planned drop is when we get out of the Whites.  We'll be sending home some cold weather gear, and getting lighter sleeping bags and clothes for the humid mid-atlantic states.

After 10 days of walking through terrain like that we'll either need lots of cookies or crutches...

ETA August 12th

We'll keep an updated list of drops on the blog and keep you posted on our progress as we crawl on our hands and knees towards Georgia.

Our anthem. Hallelujah I'm a Bum

Only three days until we leave for a southbound thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail and we're feeling prepared for any situation after watching Alan's tutorial on finding fresh water.
